About This Place

Located in the heart of Houston’s vibrant culinary scene, Laredo Taqueria is a must-visit destination for authentic Mexican flavors that tantalize the senses. This family-owned gem at 915 Snover St promises an unpretentious yet deeply satisfying dining experience, where the star of the show is unquestionably their expertly crafted tacos and homemade flour tortillas — the kind that immediately transport you to a bustling street corner in Mexico.

The menu at Laredo Taqueria is a celebration of traditional Mexican fare with a deliciously fresh twist. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or lunch, the variety and depth of flavors are remarkable. Start your morning with breakfast tacos like the hearty Potato & Egg, delicate yet savory Bacon & Egg, or the flavorful and spicy Chorizo & Egg. Each taco comes wrapped in either a freshly made flour or corn tortilla, delivering a perfectly soft yet sturdy bite that holds together the juicy, well-seasoned fillings.

Come lunchtime or dinner, the options only grow more inviting. Favorites like the Barbacoa Taco, succulent Carne Asada, zesty Spicy Sausage Tacos, and the uniquely textured Nopales Cactus Taco showcase the taqueria’s commitment to authenticity and bold flavor. And for those who crave variety, lunch plates combining selections from the steam table with sides of rice, beans, or fideo provide a hearty and satisfying meal. Don’t miss the Fajita Tacos, especially when paired with their hot sauce—known to pack just the right punch without overpowering the natural taste of the meat.

The dining atmosphere at Laredo Taqueria is straightforward and casual, emphasizing happy, hungry customers over fancy décor. While the line can sometimes stretch out the door—testament to its loyal following—the turnover is efficient, and the interior seating offers a comfortable spot to enjoy every bite. Customer feedback highlights the fast-paced service and no-nonsense vibe, perfect for those who value genuine flavors above all else.

What truly sets Laredo Taqueria apart is the heartfelt devotion to handmade quality. As one longtime patron, Ricardo, puts it, “Everything is made from scratch — especially the homemade flour tortillas (they’re next level). It’s family-owned, full of heart, and serves up some of the best tacos in Houston — hands down.” This sentiment resonates throughout the enthusiastic crowd, from locals who’ve been eating here for decades to newcomers eager to try some of the city’s best Mexican staples.

Laredo Taqueria delivers an experience that’s vibrant, authentic, and filled with the kind of flavors that linger on your palate and in your memory. Whether you’re craving the comforting warmth of a Chicken Mole Taco or the smoky richness of the Barbacoa Lunch Plate, each bite tells a story of tradition, passion, and culinary craftsmanship. For visitors and Houstonians alike, it’s a place that invites you to slow down, savor, and return again and again.

I love coming here, but make sure if you don’t want to wait in line, I’d come very early. Mid morning you know the line is out the door, but definitely worth it. As you can see, my favorite is pork chop tacos lol Soooo yum!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re from Houston and haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out. This spot is a hidden gem! Everything is made from scratch — especially the homemade flour tortillas (they’re next level). I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s always been consistently amazing. It’s family-owned, full of heart, and serves up some of the best tacos in Houston — hands down. Be prepared to wait during busy hours, but trust me, it’s totally worth it every time.

My favorite place in the whole world! I have been a customer for over 20 years! And now I drive far and bring my kiddos and we enjoy these tacos every single time!

Solid spot for classic, no frills tacos. The handmade tortillas are fresh and the fillings; especially the barbacoa and picadillo are flavorful, though overall the food is simple and straightforward. Service is fast but rushed and not particularly friendly, so don’t expect a warm welcome. Great value for the price, but be prepared for long lines and a very casual experience.

Sure the line is long but it does go fairly quickly and inside is nice seating. The menu is simple and the food is so tasty!! For sure the best flour tortilla in Houston. I wish I had tried the corn tortilla! Spicy fajita filling was delicious. Beans added to any taco is the way to go! Worth it!

Note to self. You only need two tacos. These tacos are huge and stuffed. The flour tortillas are perfection. And the prices are good. I got three tacos and small bowl of fideo for $15. Staff if super friendly!

Not all items on the menu are available. Too many items from the menu are unavailable like enchiladas or chile rellenos. Basically just tacos. The meats, fajita, barbacoa tastes great but the taco overall is dry, no cebolla or cilantro given in the taco. The salsas are too spicy to enjoy. Other item like cheese or aguacate are also unavailable. The servers are rude when customers are ordering. Plenty of parking and inside seating available. Overall I would not recommend, this is one of those one-time trips just to try it, type of place.
